About the Course
All too often, people have taken on management responsibilities on the strength of their technical or specialist skills. However, a management role depends on achieving results through others – which requires a significantly different skill set.
This course has been specifically designed for new managers, to address the challenges faced with adapting technical skill bases to a new range of priorities. Participants will focus on developing the skills to enable them to manage, lead and motivate their people to meet and exceed objectives.
Participants will take away a portfolio of realistic, relevant and immediately usable models, techniques and approaches that will dramatically improve their performance as a manager, help sustain productive working relationships with colleagues and build a committed and highly performing team.
A feature of this course is Andrew Lee's emphasis on tapping into 'withheld discretionary effort' - the difference between what people are capable of, and the minimum required, to get the job done.

Who Should Attend
This course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of those with a specialist skill who are now responsible for managing the work of others and motivating them to achieve outcomes.
